You've picked a city for a long weekend and you want more than a checklist of sights and a queue at the cathedral. You want to walk, notice small things and come home with stories that aren't the same as everyone else's. A GPS scavenger hunt you build yourself does that: you decide the route, the questions and the stops for coffee, and your travel companions follow the map on their phones. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to prepare and gives you an afternoon that belongs to your group alone.

You arrive at 2 pm and want to get oriented without a bus tour. A 10-point hunt around the old town shows you where the squares, bridges and tram stops are, so the rest of the weekend is easier to navigate.
Parents place points near playgrounds, ice cream shops and a fountain or two, with a photo task at each. The kids lead the way with the phone, and a 2 km walk through the centre passes without complaints.
One person prepares the hunt and the others walk it in teams of 3 or 4 on Saturday afternoon. Everyone meets at the same café at 5 pm to compare photos and settle who won.
You build a route for your partner or a friend with stops that matter to them: a bookshop, a view, the restaurant where dinner is booked. The final point is the surprise, and the walk there takes about an hour.
