You place your points on the map from home using the neighbourhoods, squares and landmarks you already plan to visit. Add a question you can look up or a photo task like 'find the oldest door on this street', and the answer will present itself when you get there.
Plan for 60 to 90 minutes with 8 to 12 points spread over one or two neighbourhoods. That fits between a late breakfast and lunch, or in the two hours before dinner, without swallowing the whole day.
Children from about 6 years old can follow the map on a parent's phone and hand it over at each point. Give them one task per stop, such as counting statues on a fountain or photographing a specific shop sign, and a 3 km walk feels much shorter.
Yes, groups of 4 to 8 often split into two teams that walk the same route in opposite directions and meet back at a bar. Photo tasks work well here because you compare results afterwards over a drink.
The hunt uses the GPS in your phone and loads the map and tasks over a data connection. A local SIM, eSIM or your roaming plan is enough; the amount of data for a two-hour hunt is small.
You write the questions and tasks yourself, so the hunt is in whatever language your group speaks. Nothing depends on local signage or a preset text in the destination's language.
